This is honestly one of the worst things I've ever read.
And that's saying something, because I read a *lot* of bad books, and I'm usually not this harsh on non-fiction. I was really hoping Mel Robbins' *Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life* would offer some helpful insights, but it just didn't deliver. If you're looking for good self-help books, I'd skip this one.

It's not earth-shattering, but Mel Robbins' *Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life* offers some genuinely valuable lessons and reminders. The core message – focus on yourself and what you *can* control – is powerful, and implementing it really can improve your relationship with yourself and, in turn, with everyone else in your life. If you decide to give *Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life* a try, I definitely recommend the audiobook version!

Girl really just figured out how to stay in her own lane and is acting like she discovered penicillin. Seriously, Mel Robbins' "Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life" boils down to 'stop worrying about what everyone else is doing.' I mean, yeah, solid life advice, but groundbreaking? Not so much. If you're brand new to self-help, this might be a revelation. For the rest of us seasoned self-improvement readers looking for insightful book reviews, it's a cute reminder, packaged...

This could've been a tweet.
Seriously, Mel Robbins' *Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life* feels stretched thinner than butter scraped over too much bread. The core idea – letting go of other people's opinions – is solid, but it's an idea that could've been delivered with far more punch in a fraction of the space. I was expecting a deep dive, a powerful exploration of how to untangle ourselves from the opinions of others. Instead, I got a wading pool. If you're looking for ...

Is Mel Robbins the most privileged white woman with the fewest real problems? You'd be forgiven for thinking so through most of "Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life," until she finally addresses actual issues, at which point her advice is (thankfully) to consult a professional. Otherwise, this book is repetitive, far too long, and contributes absolutely nothing new to humanity. It's just an echo of ideas from every religion, philosophy, therapy, etc., repackaged into a sing...

This is the worst book I'll read in 2025. I can say that confidently—in January—because it's genuinely one of the worst books I've ever read, and I just turned 56.
If you want to understand how Donald Trump became President... If you want to understand why influencers are prioritized over intelligent people who know their stuff... If you want to understand the decontextualization of poverty or homelessness... Then *Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life* by Mel Robbins is the...

I've never been one for self-help books, but "Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life" by Mel Robbins was EXACTLY what I needed to read before heading into this year. If you're looking for a great book review, look no further.

Just let them.If they want to choose something or someone over you, LET THEM.If they want to go weeks without talking to you, LET THEM.If they are okay with never seeing you, LET THEM.If they are okay with always putting themselves first, LET THEM.If they are showing you who they are and not what you perceived them to be, LET THEM.If they want to follow the crowd, LET THEM.If they want to judge or misunderstand you, LET THEM.If they act like they can live without you, LET THEM.If they want to wa...

I rarely write reviews, but this book feels like a personal insult to readers’ intelligence and ethics.
I first heard about Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life on Oprah’s show, where it was praised as one of the best books she'd ever read. Intrigued by the endorsement, I gave it a try—and quickly regretted my decision.
Let’s address the elephant in the room: this idea is far from revolutionary. Philosophers like the Stoics—and countless others—have articulated this concep...

The introduction gives you the gist. It's not exactly a page-turner. Helpful, sure. But worth a whole book called "Let Them: A Simple Mental Shift to Uncomplicate Your Life" by Mel Robbins? Nah.
