Not a family you'd want to be born intoFrom the very beginning, I was completely drawn into this book. Simon, one of the characters, has special needs, and as a mother of an autistic son, the way his mother treated him really hit home. It's one of those stories that makes you shake your head in disgust at some of the characters' actions. There was even a scene where one of them said she wanted to kick someone in the balls for saying something about Simon, and I literally said out loud, "You're d...

A great read!
This is the second book I've read from this author. *Family Bloodline: A Woods Family Mystery* is a great read that takes you through a mix of emotions. I did enjoy the book, however, it did take me a little while to get into it and seemed to slow down around the middle. Once it got into part two it was like a steamroller of action and suspense that had me wanting more. Great work, Katherine Black! Well done.

I've now read three of Katherine Black's books, and *Family Bloodline: A Woods Family Mystery* doesn't disappoint. The pacing and narration are quite different from the previous two I read, so much so that I could believe it was written by a different author. The story ebbs and flows – slow and deliberate in places, painting vivid mental images of the numerous and intense characters, then quickening through sections of suspense and high drama! Our main character, Violet, is truly obnoxious. She’...

Time to meet the Woods family. Violet, a hard, unloving bigot capable of murder, and Donald, her colorless husband who lives and dies in the garden and picks up his wife’s prejudiced view of life along the way. How they manage to produce no less than six sons is anybody’s ghastly guess, and author Katherine Black is wise enough not to take us there. The funeral of the first-born son is held early on in *Family Bloodline: A Woods Family Mystery*, but five more sons are born and survive thereafter...

I would have given this book 5 stars, but the first hundred pages or so left me completely lost as to where the story was headed. I felt it was a very slow start. The final hundred pages of Family Bloodline: A Woods Family Mystery by Katherine Black, though, were very good. A solid read for fans of mystery books!

Excellent.Katherine Black delivers a fantastic story about a family riddled with corruption and cruelty. "Family Bloodline: A Woods Family Mystery" is an absolute pleasure to read, with a smooth, flowing narrative packed with twists and turns. I spent the entire time trying (and failing miserably) to predict how it would all end. I devoured it in just two days. If you're a fan of James Patterson or Dean Koontz, this is definitely for you. It's a fast-paced and thoroughly enjoyable read. Loved it...
